George tackles the issues of young people in aged nursing homes, and discusses the impact of increased funding and co-operation between federal and state governments with minister for Community Services, Hon. Sherryl Garbutt. He also chats with Dr. Bronwyn Morkham, Director of the National Alliance of Young People in Nursing Homes, and Vicky Marie Smith.
Stella speaks to Melinda Tankard Reist about her book Defiant Birth, about women who have had their babies despite a foetal diagnosis of a disability, and disabled women who have given birth despite pressure to terminate. The panel then discuss the issues around eugenics, which is the proposed improvement of the human species by encouraging or permitting reproduction of only those individuals with genetic characteristics judged desirable.
Macca discusses the Recharge Point programme with Jim Pappas of Volumes Cafe, whereby businesses such as cafes provide an electrical outlet and assistance with recharging wheelchairs while you're out and about. Recharge Point is an initiative of Metro Access.
