Episode 78 - Premieres Monday 8 April 2006
Hosts: Sara McQueenie, Stella Young and George Taleporos
We take a look at The Win, an entry in the Have A Crack Film Festival, a Geelong-based program which supports people with a disability to participate in filmmaking. This film is written by and stars Zane McKenzie, a Level 2 football coach in a wheelchair. Zane has used his experiences on the field as inspiration for this film.
We visit Deaf Blind Camp, and meet Julie Botten and Claire Telletson from the Deafblind Association of Victoria, volunteer Phil Harper and Heather Lawson from the Victoria Ushers and Deafblind Club. Heather was born deaf and lost her sight later in life, is an active participant in the Deafblind Association and was heavily involved in organising the camp. The Deafblind Association may be contacted on (03) 9882 7055 or with a teletype service on (03) 9882 6786.
